Raman scattering signatures of strong spin-phonon coupling in the bulk magnetic van der Waals material CrSBr

چکیده
Magnetic excitations in layered magnetic materials that can be thinned down to the two-dimensional (2D) monolayer limit are of great interest from a fundamental point view and for applications. Raman scattering has played crucial role exploring properties and, even though it is essentially probe lattice vibrations, reflect ordering solids through spin-phonon interaction or observation magnon excitations. In bulk CrSBr, $A$-type antiferromagnet (AF), we show directly observed temperature dependence response (i) variations scattered intensities, (ii) activation new phonon lines reflecting change symmetry with appearance additional periodicity, (iii) below N\'eel $({T}_{N})$ second-order processes. We additionally three different phases encountered including recently identified low-temperature phase, have particular signature. This work demonstrates CrSBr in-plane magnetization provide unique insight into materials.

متن کاملSignatures of Vibrational Strong Coupling in Raman Scattering
We have analyzed theoretically how the emergence of collective strong coupling between vibrational excitations and confined cavity modes affects Raman scattering processes. This work was motivated by recent experiments (Shalabney et al. Angew. Chem., Int. Ed. 2015, 54, 7971) that reported enhancements of up to 3 orders of magnitude in the Raman signal. By using different models within linear re...

متن کاملObservation of scalar nuclear spin–spin coupling in van der Waals complexes
Scalar couplings between covalently bound nuclear spins are a ubiquitous feature in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments, imparting valuable information to NMR spectra regarding molecular structure and conformation. Such couplings arise due to a second-order hyperfine interaction, and, in principle, the same mechanism should lead to scalar couplings between nuclear spins in unbound van ...
